Fennel Cookery School
We believe we are unique in offering a range of cooking and wine experiences with the opportunity to reserve the school for personalised cookery courses.
Our courses include a local, culinary trip around Whitby, where you will prepare and cook fish with confidence to the exotic shores of Thailand, where you will create authentic food from the region.
Our small courses provide hands on cooking, allowing you to learn with confidence. A maximum of 8 participants ensures our classes will be relaxed and fun, with lots of individual attention.
On arrival you will be welcomed by our friendly staff. The course tutor will guide you through the day, with a demonstration or two before it’s time for you to start cooking. At the end of the session you get to take home your course pack full of recipes, tips and ideas, your Fennel cookery school apron and the food you have prepared. The “cook and dine” courses will finish with a meal of the prepared dishes and a glass of wine or appropriate beverage.
We can also provide help with your corporate or private events. Our unique facilities will allow you to use our cookery school kitchen and our boardroom for team building, office meetings or corporate entertainment. We are able to adapt our facilities to meet your business needs.

Evening course – 6.30pm – 9.30pm: £50.00
Half day course – 10.00am - 12.30pm or 1.00pm – 3.30pm: £45.00
Children’s courses: £40.00
All our courses include refreshments, course pack and apron.

Wine Courses at Fennel Cookery School |
|
Fennel Cookery School and Winetalks are pleased to announce special one day wine courses on selected Saturdays at the Cookery School above the Fennel Delicatessen in Wetherby.
These
one day Saturday courses, featuring selected wine countries, are for
people who enjoy wine and want to learn more, but may not have the
time to enrol for a series of evening classes.
The selected Saturdays are:
20th November 2010 – Wines of Australia 22nd January 2011 – Wines of Spain and Portugal 26th March 2011 – Wines of New Zealand and South Africa 21st May 2011 – Wines of Italy 16th July 2011 – Wines of the Americas 24th September 2011 – Wines of France
The course is from 10.00am to 4.00pm The cost is £85.00 + VAT per person A maximum of 12 students aged 18 years or over

Payment will be
required at the time of the booking by credit or debit card. Fennel
gift vouchers can also be used, please make sure you have the code
number.
Students must be
over 17 years unless stated otherwise.
You will receive a
Fennel Cookery School apron. If you have an apron from one of our
previous courses and don’t wish to receive another, let us know and
we will be able to reduce the course price by £5. You will need to
bring the apron to wear on the day.
When booking a
place, you must let us know if you have any food intolerances or
allergies, especially if you are attending one of our “cook and
dine” courses. We would be unable to change or adapt any of our
courses to suit dietary tastes. However, we are able to accommodate
any party of 8 people booking and designing their own course.
Please let us know
of any medical problems – some of our courses require a certain
level of fitness which can include being on your feet for long
periods. We would advise sensible footwear and comfortable
clothing.
It is important to
always follow the course tutor’s instructions as protecting the
health and safety of our staff and customer’s is a top priority. We
reserve the right to decline a booking or to ask a customer to leave
a course, without reimbursement of the course fee, if we believe
there may be any kind of risk to health and safety, including their
own.
Please note that
smoking is not permitted on site.
We reserve the right
to substitute ingredients on a course when necessary. Our Cookery School is situated above the Fennel Delicatessen in Wetherby. We would advise on parking in either the free “Wilderness” car park situated by the bridge foot, near the river or the lorry park near to Marks and Spencers.

Cancellation and Course Transfers |
|
We will, however make every endeavour to fill your place, but this is sometimes not possible on short notice. We strongly advise that you take out insurance in case you are unable to attend your course.
Cancellations: At least 14 days notice: A full refund less an administration fee of £10 per person.
Between 2 and 14 days: If we are able to fill your place we will be able to offer a full refund, less £10 administration fee per person. If we are unable to fill your place, you will receive a 50% refund, minus a £10 administration fee per person.
Less than 48 hours notice: If we are able to fill your place we will be able to offer a full refund, less £10 administration fee per person. If we are unable to fill your place, no refund will be offered.
Course Transfers: At least 14 days notice: You will be able to be transferred but charged an administration fee of £10 per person.
Between 2 and 14 days: If we are able to fill your place, you will be transferred but charged an administration fee of £10 per person. If we are unable to fill your place, you will be transferred but charged 50% of the cost of the course and an administration fee of £10 per person.
Less than 48 hours notice: If we are able to fill your place you will be transferred but charged an administration fee of £10 per person. If we are unable to fill your place we will not be able to make a transfer or a refund.
We reserve the right to cancel a course if circumstances dictate and if this occurs we will refund the cost of the course in full.
